The course aims to provide students with advanced knowledge of financial system. In particular, the interpretation key is the markets and intermediary’s evolution in a logic of continuous innovation, supporting the real economy.

Learning Objectives
The course has the following objectives:
- to strengthen knowledge of the financial system, to understand its functions, components and evolutionary dynamics, and the reasons for financial crises and the characteristics of their pervasiveness;
- to deepen the activity of the main non-banking financial institutions, including asset management companies, pension funds and insurance companies;
- to provide an overview of financial markets, their functions and characteristics;
- to deepen the Fintech sector, particularly the impact of digitalization on financial services and instruments.
Prerequisites
Suggested: fundamentals of financial intermediaries.
Teaching Methods
The course is made up of lectures and resolutions of case studies (for attending students). Furthermore, seminars and project works are planned.

Type of Assessment
For students who attend lessons: written exam (multiple choice questions) + project work.
For those who do not attend lessons: a written exam with multiple choice questions and open questions about all the topics of the course in around 60 minutes.
