Tang Zhu, a DSTS laureate, invites all interested people to the public lecture celebrating "Lychee month" of June, on June 29, (22.00 GMT - 8).
After her graudation, Tang came back to China and since then has always worked in rural tourism, agri-tourism, and local sustainability. She is organizing a series of events referring to the Lychee, the typical fruit of Hainan, a vulcanic chinese island.
Thanks to this natural resource she is working to revitalize rurual tourism and make local tourism more sustainable. In this framework, she invites you to the virtual tour "Hainan Island's Volcanic lychee Orchards", in collaboration with the Office of Tourism, culture and sport of Xiuying, Haikoou city.
During the conference, they will present the island, its history and geography, why farmes choose to cultivate lychee, how it can be used, and the tourism related activities to revitalize traditional villages and protote local economy.
